Seasonal Information

WHAT IS TRAUMA SEASON?

Trauma Season occurs every year from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Injuries are more likely to occur during this time period due to increased daylight hours, kids being out of school, increased outdoor activities, vacations, and more motor vehicles present on the road.

Children under the age of 19 are at most risk during trauma season. Hospitals are at full capacity at this time, but practicing summer safety tips can help protect you and your family from emergency situations.

General tips for staying safe:

  • Wear seatbelts
  • Wear helmets
  • Drink responsibly
  • Do not use gasoline to start a fire
  • Be careful around Fireworks
  • Stay alert when crossing the street
  • Carry a first aid kit (put one in the car!)
  • Drink water as often as possible!!
