Established in 1806, Springdale is a vibrant community in the Cincinnati metro area. Home to Cincinnati's first enclosed shopping mall (Tri-County), Springdale is a community with a diverse population and economic base. The 960 businesses located in Springdale employ over 18,000 people, and the growing population is anticipated to exceed 11,000 by 2024. Over $100 million in new commercial investment is underway, with more to come over the next several years.

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Springdale Economic Development Department is to retain and attract employers so as to solidify, diversify and expand the economic base of the City.

The Mission is Accomplished By the Department By:
  • Representing the City in presentations to prospective employers;
  • Providing comprehensive, accurate and timely information to prospective employers and/or their agents;
  • Assisting employers in securing financial assistance / incentives from State, County and Local sources;
  • Providing technical and advisory assistance to employers in matters ranging from business marketing to development and leasing strategies.
  • Acting as an ombudsman in helping to resolve matters encountered by employers in the City; and
  • Formulating and implementing plans for new development, re-development and revitalization of commercial and industrial properties within the City.
 

Springdale Economic Development Director, Andy Kuchta

Andy Kuchta

The primary responsibility of the Economic Development Director is to develop strategies, programs, and opportunities to enhance and stimulate the City’s economy by assisting existing Springdale businesses in the retention and expansion of their operations, as well as marketing the attributes and services of the City in an effort to recruit businesses and industry to locate their operations in Springdale. 

Andy Kuchta began his employment with the City of Springdale as the Economic Development Director in January, 2020. Andy has over 20 years’ experience in economic development with local governments in the Greater Cincinnati area. Prior to joining the City of Springdale, he spent 15 years as the Director of Community and Economic Development for Clermont County, Ohio. During this time Andy led multiple efforts in the county in addition to economic development, including planning, geographic information systems, communications, and the Community Development Block Grant Program. Projects in which he had a role while he was at Clermont County generated $154 million in private sector investment and the creation of over 3,200 jobs. Andy’s passion has always been on helping create the environment where companies will invest and create jobs, which is why he was so excited to be able to join the team at the City of Springdale. 

In addition to his extensive work experience, Andy has been a member of numerous organizations and served on many boards, including the Ohio Economic Development Association, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP), the Ohio Council of Port Authorities, the International Economic Development Council and the Mid-America Economic Development Council. Andy has a Bachelor of Arts from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Public Administration from Cleveland State University.
