Road Improvement Projects

EAST CRESCENTVILLE ROAD IMPROVEMENTS

Work is taking place along East Crescentivlle Road between Tivoli Lane and Business Center Lane in conjunction with the new Springdale Commerce Park currently under development in the former G.E.E.A.A. property.  These improvements include the widening of the road to develop proper turn lanes in and out of the development, storm system modifications to handle the long term improvements planned for the area and a new traffic signal to be installed at the intersection of Crescentville and Transportation Way.  Construction on this portion of the road is anticipated to be complete by the summer of 2020.

Also in the planning stage is the reconstruction of East Crescentville Road from Transportation Way to I-75.  The project will include various safety upgrades along this section of road, including the widening of the road to allow safer turning movements into driveways, storm system improvements to improve drainage in the area, and a new traffic signal at the intersection of Chesterdale and Crescentville.  This project is being managed through ODOT and is anticipated to begin construction in 2022 and scheduled for completion in 2023.  This project is a partnership between The City of Springdale and Sharonville, Butler County Engineer's Office, and West Chester Township.

SPRINGFIELD PIKE (STATE ROUTE 4) URBAN PAVING

In partnership with the City of Fairfield, the City of Springdale is looking to make roadway improvements along Springfield Pike, also known as State Route 4, from the I-275 overpass into Fairfield. Improvements include the reconstruction of catch basins and other storm structures, replacement of bad sections of curbs, removal and reinstallation of the concrete median island, new asphalt driving surface, new pavement markings, and replacement of existing signs. Construction is expected to take place in the Spring of 2023.

E. KEMPER ROAD AT PRINCETON PIKE (SR 747) TRAFFIC SIGNAL UPGRADES

Work will begin in 2022 to replace the existing traffic signal located at the intersection of Kemper Road and Princeton Pike. The signal improvements will include the replacement of the existing wire and strand pole signal to a decorative mast arm signal system that meets today’s structural requirements and the future needs of traffic signal head placement. Also as part of this project will be safety equipment upgrades to all of the other 14 signalized intersections throughout the City. Safety improvements include the installation of new LED lamps, new conflict monitor replacement, and traffic controller upgrades.

E. KEMPER ROAD RAILROAD OVERPASS IMPROVEMENTS

Over the past couple of years, the East Kemper Road Railroad Overpass has shown signs of aging and the bridge will see improvements in 2022. While working with CSX, the City will look to make structural repairs to the bridge supports, repairs to bridge beams, and replacement of the bridge deck. The City has partnered with Hamilton County Engineers Office, who actually owns the bridge, to make sure that the improvements are able to be completed.

PRINCETON PIKE (STATE ROUTE 747) URBAN PAVING

As the State of Ohio Department of Transportation looks to replace the asphalt surface along Princeton Pike, the City of Springdale looks to see what other opportunities need to take place in order to make this a sound investment for years to come. The City of Springdale will look to replace concrete curbs, replace damaged sections of sidewalk, rebuild catch basins and other storm structures, and replace driveway aprons as necessary. The City of Springdale has also made contact with Metropolitan Sewer District to have them make necessary improvements to their existing sanitary sewer force main prior to the final asphalt pavement being placed. This work is planned to 2022..

In 2023, ODOT will replace the existing asphalt pavement section with new asphalt. At this time, they will also install new pavement markings and raised pavement markers along with signage upgrades to the area.
