III. ELECTION OF OFFICERS

Mr. Syfert stated we have election of officers for the upcoming year. Mr. Okum nominated Mr. Syfert as chairman, and Mr. Galster seconded the motion. There were no other nominations, and Mr. Syfert was elected by acclamation.

Mr. Huddleston nominated Mr. Okum for vice chairman and Mr. Galster seconded the motion. There were no other nominations, and Mr. Okum was elected by acclamation.

Mr. Okum nominated Mr. Seaman as secretary, and Mr. Huddleston seconded the motion. Mr. Syfert nominated Mr. Huddleston and Mr. Seaman seconded the motion. Members voted by secret ballot, and Mr. Seaman was elected with five votes.

Mr. Syfert said I believe that since Mr. Okum is vice chairman and is the current

liaison to the Board of Zoning Appeals, he remains in that capacity. Mr.

McErlane reported the term of the liaison to BZA runs concurrently with their

term on this board, so he will remain liaison to the Board of Zoning Appeals. Mr.

Syfert asked Mr. Okum if he wished to remain liaison and Mr. Okum responded

that he did.

IV. MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING - 12 NOVEMBER 1996

Mr. Galster moved for adoption and Mr. Huddleston seconded the motion. By

voice vote, all voted aye, and the Minutes were approved unanimously.

V. CORRESPONDENCE

A. Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting Minutes - 15 October 1996

Mr. Syfert commented I found them to be very interesting. Whoever

put that in our packet, I would like to see that continue. Mr. Okum stated that was requested by Mrs. Boice. Mr. Syfert said we used to receive

these many years ago. Mr. Okum said the discussion is important, and quite often those items come back to us for other review on other issues. Having that continuity and knowing what is going on does help. Mr. Seaman asked if they regularly get the minutes of this commission and Mr. Okum stated that they do. Mr. Galster said in looking at their agenda, they have a section for reports from Council and Planning Commission. I think we should add that to our agenda. We tried to do that at the last meeting where we gave an update of what was happening at Council and I would like to see that included as a general report every month. I guess the Minutes from the Board of Zoning Appeals could do the same thing, unless Dave is interested in actually compiling a report.
