The City of Springdale is excited to announce another project to take place along the Beaver Run Stream Corridor located in the Heritage Hill area of the City of Springdale to help stabilize the existing stream bank and to improve water quality at the same time. The City of Springdale will host a public information meeting at the Heritage Hill Elementary School Library on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 6:30 PM.
Springdale was recently awarded a grant through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency in the amount of $362, 920 to make repairs to the stream located within Chamberlain Park. The work includes bank stabilization of 230 linear feet of the stream, along with the installation of materials to create fish habitat and plantings to promote park re-establishment while securing the bank for years to come. The work will begin in November and the contractor plans to continue the work through the winter with a spring 2012 completion.
We would like to invite you to a public information meeting to find our more about the proposed project, discuss stream restoration techniques, and to allow you to ask any questions you may have about the project. Please plan to join us on November 1, 2011 at 6:30 PM to discuss this exciting project.
