About Us:

The Springdale Communicators Toastmasters Club began meeting at the Springdale Community Center in 2000 after the Centers major renovation was completed . Prior to that, this club started as a club of Fernald employees. The club moved its meeting locations several times before it found its current home. The Springdale Communicators Club has a great mix of members who live and work in or near Springdale.

Ron Althaus is the Sergeant of Arms for the Springdale Communicators Club. He is the VP of Education in the Cincinnati Toastmasters Club and a Coach for TV Toastmasters. He joined Toastmasters 2½ years ago because he wanted to improve his presentation skills as an instructor of adult education. Ron has earned his ATM-B and CL and has competed in several International Speech contests at the Area level. This year he is the District 40 Area 53 Governor.  Ron has spent over 25 years in the Manufacturing and Distribution Industry in supervisory positions. He keeps busy with his independent Consultant and Educator business Althaus Consulting LLC that he developed in 2000.

John Brandewie is the VP of Public Relations for the Springdale Communicators Club. John joined the Springdale Communicators Toastmasters Club in the summer of 2006. A degreed Electrical Engineer, John is employed as an applications engineering manager for Advantech, a Taiwan based company in industrial PCs, industrial input/output controls and data acquisition. John says “Over the years I have had opportunities to speak and I have given speeches at these opportunities. But there was always something missing.  Confidence, calmness, and clarity always seemed to be missing in my speeches. It has taken over ten years to be confident enough just to join Toastmasters. Now I wonder why I waited so long.”
