NURSING PROGRAMS
The public health nurse conducts preventative health programs through home health care,
in clinic care and various community programs.
For example:
- Makes home visits to the sick.
- Ensures continuity of care following hospital discharge.
- Teaches patient care to the primary care giver.
- Refers those in need to appropriate agencies.
- Conducts an immunization clinic for residents.
- Provides free TB tests.
- Conducts blood pressure monitoring.
- Furnishes educational materials and teaches health classes.
- Conducts bloodborne pathogen classes for City of Springdale employees.
- Collaborates with schools and community agencies to promote public health.
- Conducts a Lipid/Cholesterol/Glucose
testing monthly for Springdale residents.
- Partners with the Sharonville Health & Recreation Departments to present an annual
health fair for Princeton Schools' third graders.
- Investigates communicable disease cases in the community and follows up with appropriate
actions.
