The minutes of
NEW BUSINESS
NIMS IS700 Training
Mrs. Mitrione stated the NIMS IS700 system has been
developed for emergencies’ disaster management.
It has been adopted by the State
and they are offering this training to the local jurisdictions.
OAC Changes
Mrs. Mitrione reported there will be changes to the OAC (Ohio Administrative Code) as it relates to reportable communicable diseases. They are going to add SARS and tularemia to Class A1 and West Nile Virus in Class 2.
Dr. Ketring asked who will be in charge in case of a disaster?
Mrs. Mitrione replied if it is chemical, Fire and Hazmat would be in charge. If it’s biological, Public Health would be in charge. She said it would be a unified command and we would be working with ODH.
Mayor Webster said from what he hears the Southwest Region is far ahead of the rest of the country in emergency preparedness.

REPORT
SOS Update
Mrs. Mitrione said Reverend Norm Pasley
and Julie Matheny got the mission statement for the SOS group defined. She said the process has started for applying
for the 5013C non-profit status. Mrs.
Mitrione said they need to elect officers for the group. She said she has started on a brochure for
the group. One of the group members
suggested a first project of helping some brothers, one autistic and the other
with
Ms. Pollitt said the pastor of her church, First Baptist, would be interested in being in the group.
Ms. Pollitt said she would just like to comment that the annual report is the nicest one she has seen.
Food Sampling Program
Mrs. Mitrione said the food sampling program has started. She said Mary Conn is the new employee. Mrs. Mitrione said there are about 70 stores/restaurants on the list.
Mr. Kellner asked if soft serve ice cream would be included. Mayor Webster stated that they would include the ice cream in the sampling program.
Food Safety Training
Mrs. Mitrione stated that 11 people took the Spanish food safety training course. They were from La Michoacana, Red Squirrel and Lulu’s.
Mrs. Mitrione reported that they trained fifteen people from First Watch. She said some high level managers were watching the class. Mrs. Mitrione said they are going to add an exit survey to the class.
Health Assessment
Mrs. Mitrione stated that the
New Food Places
Mrs. Mitrione said Kadat’s and Dippin Dots have opened. She said Walgreen’s is remodeling. The Wal-Mart snack bar is going to close and Subway will be coming in.
Rabies Game
Mrs. Mitrione stated she should be receiving the rabies game that she will use at the Children’s Health Fair very soon and will bring it in and show the board.
