BOARD OF HEALTH MINUTES

FEBRUARY 9, 2006

President Doyle Webster called the Board of Health to order on February 9, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.

Attendees: Rita Hart, Lynn Jones, George Kellner, Dr. Kevin Ketring (7:20 p.m.), Pam Willis, Margie Pollitt, Cammie Mitrione, and Mayor Doyle Webster

The minutes of January 12, 2006 were approved.

HEALTH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT

ClostridIum Difficile

Mrs. Mitrione stated that Dr. Baird, Director of ODH signed a Director’s Journal Entry making Clostridum Difficile a reportable condition in Ohio. Hospitals and long-term care facilities will be required to report aggregate number of cases to local health departments weekly. Mrs. Mitrione said Clostridium Difficile can be deadly. She said that stool samples should be done on people who meet the case definition and that they are looking for evidence of an epidemic.

Sewage at Wimbledons

Mrs. Mitrione reported that Outback will put in a 1,000 gallon grease receptor. There are only one or two sewer pipes to hook into. She said MSD does not check grease traps. Mrs. Mitrione said the Health Department sent letters to all the food services about having their grease traps cleaned on a regular basis. She said Doctors Urgent Care is not having problems at the present time.

Mayor Webster said they should get the landlord involved.

Mrs. Mitrione responded they involved everyone, the FSO, landlord and MSD.

Lifesphere Community Service Board

Mrs. Mitrione said she talked with Ray Kingsbury of Maple Knoll, who has asked her to be on the Community Services Board. There are six meetings a year. The board approved her being on the board.

Director of Nursing

Mrs. Mitrione reported that they ran two ads, the original and the second one with the board’s changes. She said there were sixteen applicants, all nurses with RNs. She said she and Derrick Parham, Assistant City Administrator, compiled two lists. Mrs. Mitrione said they called five applicants to interview and one did not respond. She said four are scheduled to interview with her, Derrick and George Kellner.
