WHY DO I NEED A PERMIT?
Building permits provide a means for the code official to protect the public from unsafe and unsanitary conditions resulting from substandard construction. Not only does this maintain the value of your home, but also all others within the community. Building codes contain minimum standards of construction which have been developed over many years. FOR 1,2 & 3 FAMILY DWELLINGS AND INDIVIDUAL CONDOMINIUM UNITS PERMITS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE FOLLOWING WORK:

* These improvements require a permit, however, there is no fee when the work is being done to 1,2 & 3 family residences and individual condo units provided a permit is obtained before starting work.
PERMITS AND FEES ARE REQUIRED FOR THE ABOVE WORK ON ANY MULTI-FAMILY, COMMERCIAL, INSTITUTIONAL AND INDUSTRIAL PROPERTIES.
