SPRINGDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT

About the Department

The City of Springdale Police Department is a professional law enforcement agency employing thirty-nine (372345) full-time police officers and nine (9) police clerks and is considered to be one of the best police departments not only in Hamilton County but also throughout the State of Ohio.   Continuous professional development through in-service training in a variety of law enforcement areas results in a healthy career developed law enforcement professional.

Members of the department are graduates of the FBI National Academy, Certified Law Enforcement Executive Program (CLEE), the Police Executive Leadership College(PELC), Ohio Crime Prevention Specialist Program, and a variety of other management and technical courses covering a wide range of law enforcement subject areas.

As one of the busiest police departments in the area, we respond to in excess of 20,000 requests for service on an annual basis.  Working within a partnership with other law enforcement agencies in Hamilton County, Springdale Officers participate in countywide law enforcement programs such as HCPA/SWAT, Underwater Search & Recovery, and Drug Abuse Reduction Task Force (DART).  The department currently staffs a criminal investigation unit, a juvenile officer, and a D.A.R.E. officer.

COP ON TOP FUNDRAISER AUGUST 6 AND 7

The Springdale Police Department will host and coordinate a Cop On Top event to be held at the Walgreen’s store located at State Route 4 (Springfield Pike) and Northland Boulevard. The event will begin Friday, August 6, at 6 AM and end on Saturday, August 7, at 5 PM. The purpose for the event is to raise funds for the Ohio Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics; our goal is to reach $10,000.

Local police chiefs and police officers will take turns sitting on top of scaffolding that will be erected on the corner of State Route 4 and Northland Boulevard. The intent is to have an officer on top for 35 consecutive hours. Other officers and volunteers will be collecting donations from customers, visitors, and onlookers who come to the event. Donations will also be able to be made online.
Radio station B105 will be on-site on Friday, August 6, from 11 AM to 1 PM. It’s sister station, The Wolf 97.3, will be there on Saturday. Prizes will be awarded during the event; food and drink will be available. A raffle will be held at the conclusion on Saturday.
