Gary Huddleston - Serving the City of Springdale since1985. Patrol
Officer Huddleston was born in 1951 in Cincinnati Ohio and lived most of his life here except for time in the military. He went to Catholic grade schools at St. James. He attended Princeton High School, graduating in 1969, were he played football, track and wrestling. He joined the Marine Corps out of high school and was in training for over one year as an electronics technician working on microwave gear. He then did a tour on Embassy Duty serving in Vietnam and Germany. Officer Huddleston left active duty in 1973 for college but remained in the Marine Corps Reserves. He attended the University of Cincinnati and received an associate degree in Police Technologies in 1975 and a bachelors degree in criminal justice in 1977. Upon graduation he accepted a commission in the Marine Corps and was assigned as a communication officer. During his six years as an Commissioned Officer he did a tour as a Series Officer at the San Diego Recruit Depot. After the drill field he did a tour as the dining facilities officer for two facilities, one being the largest in the Marine Corps. This was his largest command being directly in charge of eighty-nine Marines. Unable to transfer into the Military Police he left the Marine Corps and was hired by the Springdale Police department. Officer Huddleston has worked for Springdale for nearly twenty-three years. His special duties within the department include field training officer, auto accident reconstructionist and officer in charge of the alcohol testing equipment. He was married in 1975 and we raised two beautiful daughters . Officer Huddleston has two fabulous grand-children. Officer Huddleston's goal is to retire from the department in 2010 or 2011 and return as an reserve officer for as long as feels he is beneficial to the Police Department.
