James Beckman - Jim attended the University of Cincinnati from 1994-1998. In 1998 he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. Jim began his law enforcement career in 1999 with the Hamilton County Sheriff Department, where he was employed for 5 years. During his time with the department, his primary role was a School Resource Officer at Northwest High School. He was promoted to Corporal in 2003. In 2004, Jim began his employment with the Springdale Police Department, working in the Patrol Division. He worked all three shifts while on patrol. During that time, he received recognition for a Codis hit (when DNA is found at a crime scene and linked to a suspect) as well as AFIS hits (fingerprints found at a crime scene and later linked to a suspect). In 2007 Jim became the Juvenile Investigator for the department, which is his current role. Jim’s job is to investigate cases related to juveniles as suspects or victims. Jim’s role is not limited to investigating cases. Jim also offers support and sometimes counsel juveniles and their parents. While with Springdale Police Department, Jim has volunteered his time with Shopping with a Police Officer and Boy Scout Challenge Camp.
