D.A.R.E. Grant
The Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) grant is awarded annually by the State of Ohio Attorney General's Office. The primary purpose of the grants program is to provide funds to local law enforcement agencies to apply towards the salaries of certified D.A.R.E. officers teaching the D.A.R.E Elementary curriculum in their local schools. Currently, the grant provides funding for 50% of the D.A.R.E. officer's salary for 9 months of the year, or a full school year. The D.A.R.E. grant is also accompanied by an official resolution from local government.
The City of Springdale was granted an award in the amount of $18,462.00 for the 2006-2007 school year.
