Lieutenant William Fields - Lt. Fields was appointed as a Police Patrol Officer with the Springdale Police Department in March 1980. He then attended the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy where he received his state certification as a police officer. He worked a patrol officer until he was assigned to investigations in 1989. He was then promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 1991. In 1995 he was assigned as Detective Sergeant and was in charge of the Investigative unit. Lt. Fields was then promoted to Investigative Lieutenant in 1998. He served as the Investigative Supervisor until 2003. He was then assigned as a Road Patrol Shift commander until 2007. In 2007 Lt. Fields took over the position of the Administrative Lieutenant in charge of all non-sworn police employees. Lt. Fields is a graduate of Princeton High School class of 1970. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1972 and spent 2 years at Ft. Knox Ky. He attended the University of Kentucky while at Ft. Knox. Lt. Fields has been to numerous training sessions many dealing with investigations and crime scene processing. He graduated from the Police Executive Leadership College in 2000 and then attended the FBI National Academy in 2002 (session 210). He maintains the city security systems and is a member of the Ohio association of Chiefs of Police. Lt. Fields enjoys building and operating U.A.V.’s in his spare time.
